Press Alt+T to display menu bar and select Folder Options.
On the View Tab, uncheck Automatically search for network printers.

Disable Network Printer Search
When you are on a LAN, Explorer tries to search the local network for printers. This might be a great feature but it badly affects the performance of the Explorer. Disable it to get maximum performance when browsing through folders.
